PROJECT SUMMARY

As part of the Emergency Department Expansion project G&T provided both Project Management (including Stakeholder Management) and Cost Advisor services for ED Minors project located within a 24/7 Emergency department.

The project consisted of converting existing office spaces into clinical spaces to maximise bed capacity. ED minors provided 5x new bed bays, nurse station, waiting area, drug room and ancillary areas forming the new ED Minors. This is in line with the Trust’s objective of increasing capacity and modernisation of current facilities.

Due to this being an operational area, Sen Consultancy operated a full-time onsite project management service in order to facilitate ongoing physical interfaces between the hospital and the main contractor. This ultimately provided overall control of the project, including cost management.

The project management responsibilities also included the identification of alternative timings and construction methods to minimise disruption to the hospital’s services.
