PROJECT SUMMARY

This new build is located at Southampton General Hospital Oncology Ward, consisting of three additional floors above the existing Level C – C2 Oncology Ward, which has recently been extended vertically.

The new Levels D and E consists of both Oncology & Medicine Ward with enclosed plant room at Level F.

The existing steel frame vertical extension includes a new steel frame attachment to previous frames going through Level C’s roof.

The exterior envelope consists of new rain screen cladding fixed to SFS wall panel infills. Additionally, works will include the extension of the external stairs and lift to Level F. The newly constructed Level D ward provides 24 beds, comprised of four-bed bays with ensuite facilities and eight single rooms with ensuite facilities and a quiet room for patients.

In addition, adequate facilities are provided for staff, such as a spacious rest area with lockers, WC, two staff rooms, and a staff-based area. Other ancillary spaces include a kitchen area, an IT Hub, a linen store, a disposal hold area, a WC, a clean utility, a dirty utility, a store area, and a cleaner’s store. 

Sen Consultancy provided Project Management services, acting as an intermediary between the Trust and the Main Contractor, LST Projects to ensure the project was delivered per the JCT/SBC 2016.
