PROJECT SUMMARY

As part of the Southampton General Hospital Expansion programme, the project also included relocating the existing Aseptic suite to Platinum House and converting the existing footprint to provide new Auxiliary space to the increased imprint of the Emergency Department located on Level C.

This was completed as part of Phase 1b and provided a large staff room facility, office spaces, dirty & clean utility, waste transfer room and kitchen prep.

Sen Consultancy’s role consisted of working closely with the key stakeholders, wider Trust and the main contractor to minimise disruption to the 24/7 operation Emergency Department whilst ensuring the construction was completed on time.

The project consisted of forming a new access route from the existing Emergency department into the newly built auxiliary area. This process had to be phased in and undertaken during convenient hours to reduce the impact on existing clinical services and to enable the continuity of the construction activity. This project was managed under the P22 NEC contract where Sen Consultancy acted as the Project Manager and was delivered both on the programme and within budget.
